Environmental Risk Assesment for Nanotechnology

Nano-scale materials have unique properties compared to larger particles of similar chemical composition. Do these properties affect the way nanomaterials move in the environment? Can their environmental impacts be predicted? Can existing environmental risk assessment methods be modified to accommodate nanomaterials or must new ones be devised? EPP is participating in a national research center on the environmental implications of nanomaterials and is inviting applications from prospective PhD students interested in these questions.
